Seabourn's SeabournShield

Don't worry about the unexpected, either before your cruise or while you're away. SeabournShield is a package of both insurance and non-insurance benefits to provide reimbursement for losses that may occur while you cruise. SeabournShield may be added to your booking up until time of final payment.
 
SEABOURNSHIELD PACKAGE OF BENEFITS:
 
SeabournShield Travel Insurance  — reimburses losses for the following: 

  • Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption: Enables you to cancel or interrupt your cruise vacation for illness, injury or death to you, an immediate family member or a traveling companion, and receive reimbursement up to your total trip cost*.
    *Maximum per guest limit applies; refer to plan for details.
  • Trip Delay: If you miss the departure of your cruise due to carrier-caused delays or other specified reasons, you may be reimbursed up to $1,000 for additional accommodations, meals and “catch-up” transportation expenses.
  • Baggage Protection: If your baggage or personal property is lost or damaged, you could be reimbursed up to $3,000. If your bags are delayed or misdirected by a common carrier for more than 24 hours, you may be reimbursed up to $500 for the purchase of necessary personal effects.
  • Medical Expense Coverage: Should you become injured or sick during your vacation, you may be reimbursed up to $20,000 for medical expenses related to an illness, or up to $20,000 for expenses related to an injury.
  • Emergency Evacuation: In the event that serious illness or injury requires air or ground transportation to a specialized facility or to return home, you may be provided up to $50,000 in covered medical services and supplies (coordinated by our 24-hour assistance provider) to help ensure your safe transport.

 Travel insurance benefits are underwritten by Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company and Affiliated Companies, Columbus, Ohio (NAIC #23787).
 
SeabournShield Cancellation Enhancement
If your trip cost exceeds the per guest limit specified in your plan documents and you cancel your cruise vacation due to a covered reason, you will be provided a future travel credit equal to the amount by which the cancellation fees imposed exceed the per guest cash reimbursement limit. In addition, if your Trip Cancellation claim is denied due to a Pre-Existing Condition, Seabourn will provide you with a future travel credit equal to the cancellation fee amount. This non-insurance feature is provided by Seabourn Cruise Line.
 
SeabournShield Worldwide Emergency Assistance — provides 24-hour assistance services including pre-cruise health, safety and weather information; assistance with travel changes; lost luggage assistance; emergency cash transfer assistance; emergency medical and dental assistance and lost travel document assistance. Non-insurance assistance services are provided by CareFree Travel Assistance ™. 

The Travel Insurance portion of SeabournShield provides insurance coverage that applies only during the covered trip. You may have coverage from other sources that provides you with similar benefits but may be subject to different restrictions depending upon your other coverages. You may wish to compare the terms of this insurance coverage with your existing life, health, home and automobile policies. Seabourn Payments & Refunds

To reserve your cabin and lock in the final price, you will be required to place a deposit on your cruise. After you have placed a deposit to secure your reservation, you will be asked to pay the remaining balance of your fare at the final payment due date.

Cancellation and Refunds

Penalties may apply if you cancel or change your reservation. Penalties can be up to 100% of the amount paid, and deposits are often non-refundable. We recommend purchasing insurance to protect against covered unexpected events. Please check with your My Cruise Fare counselor for cancellation and refund policies for Seabourn cruises

Seabourn's beautiful, intimate ships have attracted highly skilled chefs, galley and wait staffs, and the ships' open seating restaurants produce cuisine that Gourmet Magazine cited as "consistently excellent." In partnership with Seabourn, celebrity chef and culinary genius behind three Michelin-starred restaurants, Thomas Keller brings a luxury menu inspired by his award-winning French and American cuisine.

Main Dining Room Policies: Seabourn has open seating arrangements for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Dress Code: The two dress code standards for in the evening (after 6pm) are Elegant Casual and Formal. Elegant Casual is the dress standard for all dining venues (except during Formal nights in The Restaurant). For men this means slacks with a collared dress shirt or sweater, jacket optional. For ladies, slacks / skirt, blouse, pant suit or dress is appropriate. Formal nights in The Restaurant means a tuxedo, suit or slacks and jacket are required for men. Ladies should wear an evening gown or other formal apparel.

Jeans are welcome in all dining venues during the day, but not appropriate in any public venues after 6pm. The only time-and-place a jacket is required for men is on Formal nights in The Restaurant – and a tie is never required. Any guests who do not wish to dress formally can use any of the other dining options.

Beverage Policy: Complimentary wines, spirits, fine French champagne, soft drinks and mineral water.

Special Requests: If you require a special diet or if you need to have special food items available aboard ship, please notify the your My Cruise Fare travel counselor at least one month before sailing. Kosher meals are available on all ships and itineraries and should be requested at least 90 days prior to sailing. Special Dietary requests such as salt-free or vegetarian foods, should be reconfirmed with the maitre d’hotel onboard.

Smoking of electronic cigarettes is permitted in guest suites. Smoking of water-pipes, glass-pipes or other smoking devices is not permitted on board. Smoking is not permitted on open decks during fuel bunkering operations in port.

Inside smoking of cigarettes is not permitted.

Outside smoking of cigarettes, cigars and pipes are permitted in designated areas of Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit:

  • The designated smoking area is the starboard half of the Sky Bar open deck.

Outside smoking of cigarettes is permitted in designated areas of Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn, Seabourn Quest, Seabourn Encore and Seabourn Ovation:

  • The designated smoking area for all ships is the starboard half of the Sky Bar open deck.
  • Cigarette, cigar & pipe smoking is allowed on the starboard half of the Seabourn Square outside deck.

Guests are asked to refrain from smoking anywhere inside the ship, including in guest suites, on verandas and balconies. If you have any doubts about any area, please consult your onboard staff.

Any guest who smokes inside staterooms or on adjoining verandas in violation of our policy will be charged a US$250 cleaning fee per day of violation.
